International conferences and events are often attended by participants who do not share a common language. In order for them to understand one another when speaking different languages, the services of interpreters are necessary. And, logically, the use of interpreting equipment.

Interpreting equipment mainly consists of a sound-proof interpreting booth  and a console with buttons for turning on the two microphones, changing channels or adjusting the volume. The central control unit, mixer etc, are outside the booth, as are, of course, the cordless headphones available to listeners.
